No BS about it, Still Woozy’s recently released single “BS” perfectly encapsulates the warm and relaxed vibes fans were in desperate need of this year.

Still Woozy (Sven Gamsky) was excited to share the single with audiences and delve into the details of his musical production process.

“I just love playing with sounds and textures,” he said via Zoom press conference. “It’s just so much fun to make beats, basically, and just create something out of nothing.”

The musician produces all of his own music and explained why this is necessary for him to develop his unique sound.

“That’s I feel like the beautiful part of self-producing; that you’re just curating all these sounds for people,” he explained. “That’s why it sounds like a unified whole is because this is my particular lens.”

And this particular lens is ~very~ detail oriented. The artist explained how it is important to him to incorporate even the smallest of details into his work.

“I mix in these tiny little noises and like “ehh” you know for a second in the right ear or something,” he said.

The Still Woozy Productions/Interscope Records artist’s newest release has already been described as dreamy, delightful and genre-bending, but Still Woozy says fans shouldn’t get too comfortable with his current sounds.

“I wouldn’t say that’s really indicative of stuff that’s coming,” the artist explained.

Woozy is constantly experimenting with fresh ideas and is looking forward to showing off a different side of himself in future works.

“I always try to make something that keeps my interest and there’s all these different things I want to try.” He added, “I want to have space enough to explore and express all of myself.”

Having the room to self-express is necessary for Woozy. The artist explained he holds his profession close to his heart.

“For me, music is kind of like a coping mechanism.,” he said.

This is part of why he places so much emphasis on the little things.

“I’m such a perfectionist,” he explained. “Honestly, I feel bad for my whole team and everyone that I work with cause I’m just constantly revising and revising and editing.”

Woozy’s attention to detail doesn’t go unnoticed, and fans constantly reach out to the musician for advice, which he is happy to share.

“I spend so much time working on that stuff so I love talking about it with people,” he said.

And to those creating music right now, Woozy offers a few words of wisdom.

“Focus less on getting big or getting famous or whatever, and focus more on the music and just get that to a point where you feel like it’s on the same level as everything else out there,” he advised. “’Cause I think some people get caught up on breaking too soon or like when they haven’t figured out really what they want to say or what they want to do with the music.”

The artist explained how he has recently had difficulty himself just focusing on the music.

“Being a self-critical person and you know dealing with my own mental stuff and like getting stuck on things and not having people to really bounce it off of,” he acknowledged has been hard for him.

Luckily, there is one person he can always look to for inspiration.

The musician said, “My partner has to do a lot of the heavy lifting to help me kind of move on or really feel; get me to a spot where I can be objective again.”

Woozy’s partner, now fiancé, actually creates all of his artwork.

“She just inspires me, like she inspires my art,” he said. “She just kind of makes her life into the art and I feel like that kind of just has inspired me more than anything else.”

Woozy hopes to be getting out of his head and back on stage as soon as possible, sharing how much those opportunities mean to him as a musician.

“The crazier the crowd gets the crazier I’ll get. That’s what I love about shows…the best shows are the shows that have no separation between you and the crowd.” He said, “If it was up to me I would be in the crowd the whole time just like moshing or just interacting, I don’t like when there’s so much space.”

Until the time for concerts comes again, enjoy Still Woozy’s newest release, “BS” available now on all music platforms.
