Tay Money brings a unique twist to the rap game with her Texas attitude and southern belle charm. The “Sassy-fabulous-cowgirl” recently released a new EP titled “Blockedt,” that includes the fresh single, “Friendly,” featuring Key Glock.

The rapper is already gaining attention through the rap and hip-hop industry with a list of featured collaborations including DaBaby, Saweetie and Mulatto.

In just a couple of years, the up-and-coming artist rose in popularity with hit songs, “Bussin,” “Moneyway,” and “Trapper’s Delight,” all of which now frequent the widely popular social media platform, TikTok.

“It feels crazy, like there’s no other way to put it,” Tay Money explained during a Zoom press conference, speaking about her journey to stardom and its jolting reality check.

“I do trust myself, but you know in this industry you have lots of people that tell you a whole bunch of different things and you start to listen to them and you kind of forget that the reason you’re here is because of you,” she said, “but I’m very thankful for all my experiences and everything that’s happened so far. I’m just looking forward to the future. If you would’ve told me I would’ve been here way back then I would’ve been like ‘you’re lying!’”

Along with the excitement of her new album, the rapper has had an exceptionally good 2020 in terms of new opportunities.

“The fact that I got a label deal in the middle of the pandemic is…insane!” She said, adding that she awaits a proper signing party celebration post-covid. After a laugh, she continued, “I'm just glad because it was very helpful in those times and now to make sure that you know my family has a really good Christmas and things like that, so I’m just very thankful.”

While the rapper is feeling blessed with where she’s at right now, she is excited for the day she can go back to doing live shows again.

Tay Money admitted, “the shows are everything. Like, you’re telling me you’re going to pay me to get all fine and go sing on the screen and sing on a stage for people? Like, yes!”

Although the artist is serious about the pandemic and even considers herself a ‘total germaphobe,’ she did come up with a very creative way to host a masked meet-and-greet opportunity where she was able to connect with fans on a more personal level.

“It was basically a meet and greet garage sale and it was so awesome that I'm actually going to take it to another city and do another one. It’s going to be ‘Tay Money’s garage-sale-mini-tour.’ I’m going pick like 5 cities and we’re going to go like that” the rapper excitedly shared, adding, “this could be my thing, you know, I loved it!”

The artist expressed how much it means to her to have such an amazing fan base and promised to always be there for her audience as they have been for her.

“I’m not ever going to be somebody I’m not. I’m not going to sell out, I’m not going to be fake and I’m not going to do something just because somebody told me,” the rapper said, letting her fans know that they, “can always count on me 100 percent to be Tay Money.”

Enjoy Tay Money’s unapologetic individuality on her new EP, “Blockedt,” out now on all music platforms.
