Nashville-based (via St. Petersburg, FL), Indie alternative artist, Jack Vinoy, is making waves in the music world with his newly released single, ‘SIGNAL.’

Vinoy says he first started experimenting with music when he was just 9 years old. Going to a school that gave him access to a MacBook, he was able to start playing around with the production side of things before joining some other bands throughout middle and high school. For the last three years, though, the musician says he’s taken on a lot more solo projects.

Drawing inspiration from other musicians like Tyler the Creator and Frank Ocean, Vinoy says his goal is to keep pushing himself to see all that he can do with his music.

Vinoy describes ‘SIGNAL’ as a “much more explorative” song, saying he let himself do what he wanted as he produced it.

“I let myself experiment more,” the singer tells us.

The purpose of his song is to help him make light of a personal conflict, saying that deeper meaning can be hidden in the bouncy beat and upbeat choruses.

“It’s a song that describes how tiring it can be working towards what the goal is and not seeing an immediate outcome,” Vinoy says.

One of the main frustrations the singer/songwriter says he’s faced in the last year has been the pandemic. Releasing his debut album in September 2020, with singles dropping as early as last April, he says it’s been difficult not having the avenues to perform live and network, but also says he wouldn’t change the timing of the release.

“I wouldn’t change it because… it’s a big personal achievement.”

Throughout the pandemic, though, the musician says he’s been able to make connections through social media and has also had more time to write, with about 40 different songs created during his time in lockdown.

Vinoy says his goal is to keep making connections with other musicians, with a number of others helping out with ‘SIGNAL’ including vocals from Florida based artist Fessi K. and Grammy-award winning engineer Pete Novak doing the mastering for the track.

‘SIGNAL’ is now available on all streaming platforms, and to find out what Vinoy is up to next, follow his Instagram @jackvinoy.
