TiaCorine

Rapper and songwriter, TiaCorine, is making a name for herself with her unique trap, anime sound she’s bringing to music. Tia’s recent single “Lotto” caught the attention of local radio station clubs and DJs and has now grown to one million streams on Spotify.

TiaCorine is one rapper to look out for. Currently working on a project with Kenny Beats, you can expect new releases to be coming out and in her own words, “We have a specific track we have been working on and it is going to change things.”

Tia has always been into music. Her mom and stepdad listened to a lot of music when she was younger and listening to them sing along made her want to be a singer. Tia entered a talent show in 3rd grade and when some of her childhood bullies entered with the same song as her, she had to do a sing off in front of her class to decide who can sing that song in the talent show. She won the sing-off and it made her realize how good she was and that she could do this as a career.

Tia eventually got into rapping when she started freestyling with her guy friends and realized that was her true passion.

Tia has grabbed a lot of her inspiration from listening to Michael Jackson, Usher, Lil Wayne, Ashonte, Biggie and Tyler the Creator, and when asked which artists she would want to collab with, dead or alive, she responded quickly with Michael Jackson, Biggie, Tyler the Creator and Pi’erre Bourne.

Tia’s style is unlike no other. Her transitions are mixed up with a lot of anime sounds, incorporating Mario Kart sound effects throughout it and even some sounds from the movie “Rush Hour.”

When coming up with songs, Tia said she has two different strategies that work for her.

“When I am driving around, I might hear a bar in my head and I’ll type it in my notes because they’re more like start up points for me that help me take off on my writing,” the rapper said. “Also, sometimes I get in the studio and just put my headphones and the beat creates a picture in my mind and I will just start mumbling a melody and whatever comes to my mind I don’t think about it I just let it take off.”

Along with her music career Tia would like to get into acting and fashion. She said she would love to have her own animated series and do her own voiceovers, but she also has plans to grow and progress her music as well.

“I just hope my music lets people know that they can be themselves and you don’t have to have a certain sound or wave or style you can just do what you want to do because it is possible,” Tia said.

Tia is the definition of “my haters are my motivators.” She’s dealt with so much negativity and never let it get her down.

“I am amazed at myself and really proud of myself. It is so crazy all these songs I made in my living room on a $70 mic. It feels like a dream I manifested this and so many people told me I was never going to make it and I had to move to possibly make it, but I knew myself and knew I could do it,” Tia said.

This bubbly, colorful star is only going up from here. Between her fierce, confident attitude and her bright aesthetic you can’t miss her. Before signing off with us Tia had some advice for new artists.

“Get used to not sleeping, but that’s okay, it is going to be tough, but that’s okay, you might cry, but that is also okay. Make sure you’re eating healthy, drinking water and make sure you exercise. Meditation sessions help and are very important. Remember what kind of energy you have around you because that will reflect on you as a musician.”
